Other interesting facts
Sefton Transmail are pleased to announce that not only do we now hold in stock both
clear and opaque 100% recycled mailers, but we can now manufacture a potato starch
film product to your specification.
This uniquely has the European compostable mark and is 100% compostable, recyclable,
reusable and greenhouse effect neutral. Potato starch envelopes are strong and durable
and have the equivalent strength of standard plastic at the same thickness. For
higher clarity we can recommend another biodegradable material – Biodegradable Polypropylene.
Oxo-degradable bags degrade when exposed to oxygen, sunlight and heat. The degradation
process starts at the point of extruding the film. This product will degrade in
a landfill environment, ultimately taking up less landfill space. Oxo-degradable
material is ideal for single use or limited life cycle applications.
Photo-degradable bags are another one of our degradable ranges, the bag reacts to
ultra-violet light and requires constant exposure to continue the degradation process.
Finally, as a least expensive alternative, is our recycled range which utilises
100% recycled polythene and yet remains 100% recyclable.
